Lonjsko Polje is a wetland area, but it can nevertheless be extremely hot. There are not many shops and restaurants in the Park, but to make your stay in the Park as pleasant as possible, we recommend you bring the following: hiking shoes , long-sleeved shirt and long trousers, anti-mosquito preparation, cap, hat or sun-shield, enough liquid.

Accommodation and gastronomy - some of the traditional wooden houses have been put to use for the purpose of farmhouse tourism and traditional food and drink. Birdwatching in Lonjsko Polje Nature Park - the most significant thing is that a great number of birds nest in Lonjsko Polje, particularly wetland birds. Two areas within the Park – Krapje Đol and Rakita –have been proclaimed special ornithological reserves.

Walking on nature trails - observe nature and enjoy the landscape - in the Park all the dykes are in principle good for walking, bike-riding and looking around. From them you can get a marvellous view of the Sava and the flood areas. Good routes to the Polje, from the Posavina side, go from the villages of Čigoć, Kratečko, Mužilovčica, Krapje and Mlaka, and from Osekovo and Repušnica from the Moslavina side.

The Posavina Trail in Čigoč - length oftrails: 4.200 m, pathis a circular and the trailhasaresting place.This trail starts from Čigoč and heads in the direction of the pasture.

The Borderers’ Trail in Krapje- length oftrails: 2.500 m and the trailhastwoobservation. This trail starts from Krapje and continues towards the biggest nesting ground of spoonbills in Croatia, the Krapje Đol Ornithology Reserve. For this reason, along this trail, replicas of the wooden historical observation points on stilts, the chardaks.

Tena’s Trail in Piljenice – a forest learning trail - length oftrails: 2.500 m and the trailhasaresting place. This forest learning trail for walkers is a joint project to commemorate 2011, International Year of Forests.

Cycling Routes in Lonjsko polje (a cumulative length of 310 km)

Particular recreational activity is provided by six very attractive bicycle routes that link the Posavina corridor with the Una River and Moslavina region. Some dozen rural households that deal with tourism can provide cyclists with refreshment and pleasure in genuine Posavina cooking, and the wooden houses offer ideal B&B accommodation.In the information centre at Čigoč or Krapje you can rent a bike and get a bicycle guide.

Boat ride - “VODOMAR” – an educative raft for tourists

This craft provides visitors with the chance really to experience the Sava River.Nowhere else in Europe are you likely to be able to finda river that in its central course has retained this natural kind of state: an attractive riverine landscape with galleries of willows and poplars and thriving bird life, while the meanders and sand banks can leave no-one unmoved.

Canoeing - numerous rivers and canals provide ideal conditions for canoeing. In the Info-center Krapje you can rent canoes and enjoy the untouched nature.

Ethnographic collections - in registered and very worthwhile ethnographic collections in Čigoć No. 34 (the Sučić Family Collection), Mužilovčica No. 72 (the Ravlić Family Collection) and Krapje No. 48 (the Palaić Family Collection) you can become acquainted with some of the exceptionally intriguing cultural heritage of the region:
